do i need commas here?

I don't have time to read the whole thing right now, but I noticed[,] through skimming[,] that you use the word 'conclusion' in your conclusion.

I know the information in brackets is parenthetical, but the commas cause disruption. Is there a provison to this "rule"? Thaks.

What about just saying "...but I skimmed through and noticed that..."

Yes, that would be better. But how about the commas in this sentence.
