Do I have to define object pronoun in the sentence?

Hello everyone.

This is the original sentence.

"Don't forget to find new topics in order to discuss with me."

Do you think that this sentence is wrong?

Someone said to me that I had to say like:
"Don't forget to find new topics in order to discuss them with me."

I know that he is not wrong, okay but I think that mine is also acceptable and correct in English.

Do you think that there is an obligation for me to add "them" absolutely?

Thank you very much.
