Do Higher Mammals have rights?

DO HIGHER MAMMALS HAVE RIGHTS?

Due to the need of testing new drugs, medicines and many other physical and chemical processes, it has been more and more commom to hear and get to know about many sort of animals locked on cages waiting for the ultimate experience.

Regarding to this situation, we are asked whether these animals have rights or not. Not just the freedom right but also the right of not be undertaken to experiences, putting in risk their lives.

In the one hand, these animals were bred totally apart from its own habitat and have never had contact with any others animals of the same specie, that would be in freedom. And if the test fails and these animals die, we would not be killing animals from the nature, and so not endangering these species.

In the other hand, theses animals as well as mankind has rights. Rights to live, to grow up, to breed and to be in freedom. And once an animal is caged, the mankind is committing crime. And not just crimes regarding on caging animals, but also crimes with mankind's own life. We can see an example of this on those viruses that are originated in laboratory experience and released to the population by someone’s fault or even by any natural effect.

In my point of view, higher mammals as well as any other species do have rights and should not be undertaken to lab experiments. Although, mankind must test their experiences in order to evolute and save lives from deadly diseases. So, the best we should do is to invent a new way of testing it, even if on ourselves.
