Do despite and in spite of work in the examples?

Hi,

Do despite and in spite of work in the examples?

Is there any subtle difference in meaning between the three sentences below?

1. Although the sun is bright, the air is cold.
2. Despite the fact that the sun is bright, the air is cold.
3. In spite of the fact that the sun is bright, the air is cold.

Thanks!

They all have the same meaning. They all work, but the second two are laughably wordy.

Hi Avangi,

Thank you very much for the answer. Can I use despite and in spite of here in the following sentences?

In spite of/Despite the fact that I looked it up in the dictionary, I couldn't find the definitions of the word".

Thanks!

Again, you may do so,
but I'd suggest getting rid of a few useless words by switching to the gerund:
Despite looking etc.

Hi,
Would it sound natural to use still to mean nevertheless in the sentence?
"The sun is bright. Still, the air is cold."
Thanks.
