Do coming out or make coming out?

With the meaning of "to publicly reveal one's homosexuality," should I say "to do coming out" or "to make coming out" or is there a better way to say this?

Thank you.

It's just 'come out '. eg He hasn't come out to his parents yet. It used to be that if he kept it a secret, we said He's still in the closet.
