do and make

Hi everyone.. i have a little question...
someome could tell me:

when do i have to use "do" and "make"..
for example.. how would i say "I will "do" a party at my house" or "I will make a party at my house" I think that is right when i said "at my house" because i dont think so that the word would be "in my house"

What about "throw a party"?

"throw a party" is fine if you want to say it in a rather slangy and exuberant way.
