Do a minimum

Is this sentence natural?
Would you have said it this way?
If I don't do a minimum around the house, the house becomes a mess.

minimum is a descriptor, so you need to say 'a minimum amount of tidying' or a minimum level etc. You could say the bare minimum. Here it becomes a noun.
