Do a favour

Can we say "Please do a favour for me." or "do somebody a favour is the only correct way to use the word "favour" ?

You can say "Please do me a favor" or "Can you please do a favor for me?" -- Both are fine.

Let me answer another way.

You can use the word 'favour' in many sentences. It's not just related to the verb 'do'.

eg He asked her for a favour.

eg They favour their son more than their daughter.
