Divided by a borderline

Hi, I am not sure if 'divided by a borderline' makes sense.

He poses a question if there is any principle which classifies nouns into countable and uncountable. Based on the concept of the 'boundedness,' we can examine the referent if it can be divided by a borderline. When an entity is divided by a borderline, it can be verbalized in the form of countable. On the other hand, an entity that has no borderline or has very vague outline is recognized as uncountable.

Thank you for your help, in advance.

I don't think that the definition as a whole is reasonable. There is only one Universe (countable noun, no borderline).
