Diversion or detour

Hi,

What do you think of the sentence? Is it correct?

The one time I have to go pick my mother up from/at the train station, there is a diversion/detour that adds an extra 30 minutes to my trip.

Thanks

Both "from" and "at" are good, and it's "detour" in my US English.
