Do you find any movies disturbing or emotionally upsetting?
IMHO; movies are a form of escapism; so when I escape, I want to be entertained, not mentally disturbed. To be disturbed is not entertaining or escapism to me... I get enough of that in reality. There are some movies I will just not watch because of the "disturbing" nature of the writing or direction. I'm not talking about documentaries or reality here. I know it's somewhat subjective, but any thoughts on the matter?

Now if those had hordes of zombies or a rampaging werewolf thrown in, I actually might be able to sit past the opening credits. Cheers, B
I've found indie films mostly disappointing. "David and Lisa," "My Life as a Dog," "Harold and Maude" ... all totally weird wastes of time. Refuse to watch Woody Allan films. Despise how he makes 800-year-old male characters the love interests of female zygotes.
Haven't seen any of the Tyler Perry flicks yet, although I give him major props for being a one-man industry. Mainstream

[nq:1]Walked out of "Starship Troopers" also; I wasn't entertained by watching (and hearing) people get eaten alive by giant, mutant praying mantises.[/nq] But it was done tongue-in-cheek. The whole thing was over the top, hence hard to take seriously. I guess "Black Sheep" and "Shaun of the Dead" are out too? But I definitely agree with you on the Saws and Hostels. I'm not particularly th
