Disturb someone's sleep

Hi

Are the underlined parts natural?

[on the phone]

A- I hope I didn't disturb your sleep.
B- Not really; I had almost woken up before you called.

Tom

In a conversation, "I had" would normally be "I'd". Otherwise it seems OK. I think I would most naturally say "I was almost awake anyway".
