distribution of ST (an activity?) across SB

Hello,

Could somebody possibly check the following, please? I'm not sure about the prepositions.

Trying to express that the purchase of goods should be distributed across different suppliers, I've used the following noun phrase:

distribution of the purchase of goods across different suppliers

Is that correct?

P.S.: I've just come across a phrase that might be equivalent: Apportionment of a purchase of
goods among various contractors, but it doesn't seem to have been written by a native speaker of English, so...

I believe 'among' is the better choice. I think I would also use 'various' rather than 'different'.
