Distribution

Hi, does "distribution" related to voter has the same meaning when it "distribution of seats"?

"Divides our voting into 308 separate elections it then awards seats in the house of commons only to those who come first in each of the electoral districts these arrangements will generally produce results marked by a wide discrepancy between the distribution of voters and the distribution of seats."

Flowersa Hi, does "distribution" related to voter has the same meaning when it "distribution of seats"? Yes, but it probably requires some understanding of districting. Ideally, if district A has twice as many voters as district B, then district A should be represented in Parliament by twice as many "seats" (lawmakers) as district B.

I interpret this as follows.
eg A party can win all 308 elections without winning the total popular vote.

You're probably right, Clive. It can mean "distribution of voters with respect to party."
I had assumed "with respect to district."
