Distract in a positive way

if we intend to emphasize that a distraction is positive, not negative, what adjective can we use?

for example if we have anguish and want to distract our mind from the problem....

maybe another noun to replace 'distraction', maybe an adjective which can change its meaning into a positive one Emotion: smile

distraction isn't necessarily negative though. You knew that?

You can try to distract someone from their worries by providing them with a/some diversion.
