Distinctive grammatical feature of 'clockface'

the underlined clauses in lines 3 and 14 share a salient grammatical feature could some help me identify what is it?

Night likes the backyard with its reptile tongue.
The baby gives her windy death's-head grin;
no comfort
Who's awake? is there anyone?
the illuminated clockface
tells the truth;
it shakes the future out with metal teeth.

A breeze picks out a damp patch
on my lap.
The baby sqirms and turns her eyes on me.
They're wet and lustrous like an animal's
the road lights dip and stutter
Through the trees.
No engine noise. The darks malevolent.
