(dis)regard money

Could you tell me if the sentences go together. If the meaning is coherent and if I've use regard and value naturally?

Does the first clause and second clause go together? Could not having a great regard for money mean that he's got so much he doesn't care to waste it? Would you have said it like that?

I don't have a great regard for money, but it's hard to value money the same (way) as everyone else when you have so much of it.

Is this the meaning?
I don't know the value of money. Meaning he spends so much he doesn't care how much he spends because he makes so much of it so easily.
My friend doesn't waste money. She knows the value of it.

Is disregard correctly used in the sentence? Doe the 2 sentences go together? Would you have said it like that?
I have a blatant disregard for money. It's hard to value money the same (way) as everyone else when you have so much of it.

Thank you

If what you are trying to say is that someone has a lot of money and doesn't care how he spends it, you might try reworking your example into something like this: "I don't give great thought to spending money.
