Dismissed from school

Hi Everyone on English Forum,

I have a question on how the usage of "dismiss from school". Would you please help me out Emotion: smile ?

Please imagine the following case:

A - A student

B - His dad

A : Dad. I have classes today and I'm going to school now.

B : Ok. When will you be dismissed from school today? Remember, we've got a dinner invitation from Uncle C tonight.

A : I will be dismissed at x o'clock this afternoon.

Is it correct to say " I will be dismissed ....."?

Is there another way of saying this?

What about "I will finish school at ......"

Would you please also help me correct any grammatical mistake I have made in this post Emotion: smile ?

Thank you in advance

Kenny

Having gone to school in the UK, in England in particular, your suggestion is unfamiliar. People would use the word school instead of "classes".

KennyLuIs it correct to say " I will be dismissed ....."?

This is also unfamiliar.

Here's a very common dialog from the U.S.:

— What time do you get off from school
