DISCUSSION ESSAY: TV IMPACTS ON CHILDREN

Some people say that what children watch on TV influences their behaviour while others say the amount of time children they spend watching Tv influences their behavior.

Recent decades have witnessed the potential bias towards watching television among millennials. While some social members tend to back the conviction that several children’s behaviors can be shaped under the impact of television programs, some argue the main culprit is the quantity of time children channel into them. Nevertheless, I believe both factors are decent reasons affecting children’s behavioral patterns.

Television broadcasts are generally associated with the ways children act. Obviously, the young have an instinct for learning and imitating the patterns of characters. Therefore, it is likely that exposure to violence triggers aggressive behavior. No sooner do adolescents get access to educationally oriented programs than they probably behave in friendlier and thoughtful manners towards on their doorstep dwellers.

Another assertion is the undesirable bestowment from the excessive amount of time facing the monitor on millennials. The youth have a tendency to divert a sheer quantity of time into sitting in front of the screen. This associates with sedentary life style. Children, hence, rarely take part in physical activities and socialize with their peers, instead, they rather engross in television shows. Taken together, time deprivation for watching television is one of the main culprits leads to idle and poor interpersonal skills amid youngster.

In conclusion, both television broadcasts and screen bingeing are benefactors paving the road towards deviant attitudes and sedentary life style among children. Should parents in corporation with schools not to control offensive contents and set the watching time for children, they will be easily exposed to the snag of television.
