Discussing about sports

Some people say that sports play an important role in society. Others think it is nothing more a leisure activity. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

People have different statements whether the role of sports is important as it has a big influence on societies or it is just simply an activity for entertainment. In my opinion, I hold the former view because sports do have so many values to life.

It is indeed reasonable that sports are considered to be a recreational activity because not anyone has the potential to become an expert or professor on playing sports. They just need them for relaxing, escaping from pressure of work during their spare time. Aside from this, some people recognize that sports is a great chance for them to make friends. For example, people have to be well-informed about their peers when participating in volleyball, rugby, regatta and other team sports. They will have more friends, be more sociable and well-adjusted and gain more experience on making friends.

Nonetheless, along with a beneficial activity, sports also play a massive role to human beings and the world. Firstly, they partly decide how good an economy of one country is. If all of the citizens did not play any kinds of sports at all, they would be lazy and have no energy and good health to be at work and school. Hence, the economy will be negatively affected since the quality of work and study is awful when people cannot finish tasks on time because of being quickly tired. Secondly, sports make the whole world closer. To illustrate, the most wonderful image in soccer is that people in all nationality, genders, ages and skin colors gather in a stadium. They together excitedly hope for the victory with no grudges between them. People are opener and more delighted to strangers which creates the connections amongst others. Finally, sports provide people satisfaction from watching them and winning competitions which make their life more beautiful.

Accordingly, I still believe that sports have a great impact on human although I recognize the good points in the latter view.
