Direct/indirect speech
My doubt about the use of indirect speech in spoken english is still not clear.We mostly use indirect speech in spoken english but there are some sentences which look awkward in indirect speech and can only be suited for direct speech.
Like if I am discussing something with my friend ,I am saying to him-
Me to friend -One day I was just sitting and suddenly i thought "I haven't done anything challenging in my life yet.So from now on I will do the things that will take me out of my comfort zone" . that's why I have changed a lot in these few years.
My friend- ok I have understood now why did u change .
can I say my sentence in direct speech?
