Direct/indirect speech

I want to know whether I can use direct speech in general conversation or spoken english.
Like if I am describing my friend something can i say ,he told me "I will come to your house tomorrow" or i have to say he told me he would come to my house the next day.

yes, you should say, he told me he would come to my house thwe next day.
When we report what other person said, we have to cahnge the tense of the sentence, that means the original sentence was in present, you report it in past, from past to present perfect or simple past if it was the verb be, from will to would and from can to could. Here u have some examples:

in general you should use indirect speech if you are describing something to your friend....and its "he told me that he would come to my house the next day."...
and in indirect speech you should use "that" if the sentence is not interrogative...and next thing is that "told" is used in indirect speech only...your question should be like this - he said to me,"I will come to your house tomorrow."
