i m learning english as second language. i need your help.

John: what is the price of the marriage hall?
Me: The price is $1000/day.
John: can you book a marriage hall for me.

after some days, i m telling to someone else.

John asked me what is the price of the marriage hall? I told him that the price is $1000/day. He request me to book a marriage hall for him.
OR
John asked me what was the price of the marriage hall? I told him that the price was $1000/day. He request me to booked a marriage hall for him.

questions?
1) should i present tense or past tense?
2) after some days suppose the price is still $1000/day. shouldn't i use present tense?

In that case you can use present OR past. The listener will understand what you mean. Most speakers use the past in these situations.

I told him that the price [ is/was ] $1000/day.
