Direct speech

He replied, "What my Lord has taken away from me belonged to Him. I was only its trustee for a while. He gives to whom He wills and withholds from whom He wills."

Indirect Speech

He replied that whatever his Lord had taken away from him was his Lord's and that he was just its trusree for a while. His Lord gives to who He wills and withholds from who he wills.
