I kind of figured as much, but even then, "I have wondered..." is what? It's not the main clause, is it?

It's a subordinate clause functioning as a noun
You know something.
eg You know the date.
eg You know I have wondered .. . . .

Some people call it a clausal complement of the verb (know).
