Direct Indirect Object Question Grammar

I'm confused. I've searched around online for examples, but have found conflicting information. I'm going to give an example sentence and hopefully someone can tell me what is right.

Erica bought the little girl a stuffed giraffe.
Okay, firstly, what is the direct object? Is it giraffe? Or stuffed giraffe? Or a stuffed giraffe?
What is the indirect object? Is it boy? Or little boy? Or the little boy?

It is better to serve the children a small dessert.
What is the direct object? Is it dessert? Small desert? Or a small dessert?
What is the indirect object? Is it children? Or the children?

I hope someone understands what I am asking. Because there are so many multiple variations of how to interprete... but what exactly is the direct object and indirect object in these sentences?

Thank you Emotion: smile
