Hi, I would like to know more about changing direct speech into indirect , Can you help me?

Direct speech mean is what is said by speeker as same as described to other that is direct speech i.e. Karim said, " I eat rice" where describer told as speeker siad.

Indirect speech mean is what is said by speeker describer said it from his modification.
i.e. Karim said he ate rice. where tense is also changabel..
