Hi,

When speaking of the evening meal, usually no difference is intended.

However, 'dinner' is the main meal of the day, and in some places people eat this in the middle of the day.

An American friend of mine said that in the US supper is eaten in the evening and that dinner can be around noon or in the evening. Breakfast is early in the morning.
