Diner

Jamie asked me to come to his diner tomorrow. Or

Jamie asked me to go to his diner tomorrow.

Which should it be if I'm talking to a friend about what Jamie had said to me.

Thanks.

I would say 'come', but I would accept either 'come' or 'go'. I suppose 'go' is the technically correct one, but in the variety of English that I speak there is no strict observance of the directionality when the situation involves the third person. I suspect many other native speakers are in the same position.
