Diluted amount is ok, just I think you need to add something to it "diluted amount of ..."

And answering Alan's suggestion, the Cambridge says "diluted" is a usual American usage. And also if you google dilute amount you'll find no reference, whereas there would be plenty if you turn your search words to diluted amount. Hope it helps.

I'm intrigued by this use of Google to decide whether a word or phrase is being used correctly....however..

Google must be doing some funny things because when I used "diluted amount" there were 764 hits and 604 for "diute amount" i.e. using the inverted commas to ensure that it was the combination rather than each of the words.

Whether that proves anything, I don't know!

I believe, the phrase "diluted amount" makes no sense in itself, even if it may be used colloquially. Dilution is the phenomenon of a certain amount of substance being in mixture with a much large

I guess it means that small doses/amounts of additives are present in the benzine.Additives are: Lead alkyls (organic lead), for removing and preventing the accumulation of poisonous layers of lead on the engine: ethylene di-chloride (EDC) and ethylene di-bromide (EDB), etc.

Yes, these are additives so I'm happy with using that word.

'Dilute amount' does mean that they are added in low concentrations and is used. This is the meaning intended.

'Diluted amount' would mean that they were originally there in a higher concentration and the concentration was reduced by diluting further. This is not what is intended.
