What is the other way to express' to dilute' in the following sentence?

Dilute is to thin or weaken a liquid. Your descriiption is a bit vague. If the sugar is disolved in grape juice, it could then be diluted.

I am talking about the processing of making icewine and I have to paraphrase this sentence. Do you have any suggestion? or can I say that it got less sweet?
