Not always, Loojka-- that is the problem. Sometimes some of them can be used transitively: I tasted the soup carefully; I felt the injury gently.

Yes, that's right. I just tried to make a rule that can be applied to the example in the introductory post, something like:
The soup tasted good.
I felt terrible.
