difficult sentence
Hi,
I woke up to hear the bedroom door being opened slowly.
This sentence looks very unusual to me... probably because I cannot find its "counterpart" in my native language...
(1) What does it actually mean?
"I woke up because of the noise ("crunch") of the bedroom door being opened slowly".
(2) Could you give me more examples of this sort?
