Constructing a new rail network will be saving time of many people as existing infrastructure system will not be impacted. This is because considerable time can be wasted in removing current public transport system which will create difficulties for public as they will not have any other choice. As a result, not only huge amount will be incurred on the project, but it will also create inconvenience for the people. Melbourne, for instance, invested USD 1 million on constructing new lines for a bullet train in 2017 instead of spending similar amount on improving existing network. The reason was that the local government did not want its citizens to face difficulties.
On the contrary, numerous persons believe that the current network of transport for public should be improved because it is easy to revamp, and it will not occupy extra space. That is to say that lines are already in place for existing infrastructure and a new place will not be occupied lying new railway lines. Thus, a government will be saving substantial amount of time along with the space. However, demolishing existing transport system in order to upgrade it will create myriad difficulties for public. For example, New York city spent USD 2 million in revamping the old railway lines in 2016. Had it invested in lying a new line, it would have been saved USD 1 million and people would not have been disturbed.
In conclusion, if a government does not construct a new railway line, people will encounter difficulties because removing existing transport usually takes considerable time. In my view, new railway lines should be built as it will save time
