Difficult (adjective)

I've learnt that an adjective qualifies or modifies a noun but I've seen some phrases where it's hard to see it.

i'm gonna use the adjective difficult to exemplify:

It will be very difficult to prove that they are guilty
Many things make it difficult for women to reach the top in US business.
He finds it extremely difficult being a single parent.
The noise outside made it difficult to concentrate

I cannot see the adjective modifying the noun in the four sentences showed above.

Can somebody expain it to me?
