Differently or different

Hi! Is this sentence correct? "When I was in China, I saw that many things were differently there than in Norway."

or should I use "in a different way" or maybe just "different"?

Yes, you need an adjective. 

Many things were different. (The things in China did not look like things in Norway.)
I saw things differently in China. (You had a different vision, view, or opinion.)
