Is the second response by B correct?

I would say "B" is more correct because the meaning you are striving for is that you are AND REMAIN worried, presumably for some time to come.

"I am worrying" conveys that you are worrying, right now, as a temporary behavior and not as being in a "state" of being worried. Just like other "I am"-"ing" constructions like "I am driving" or "I am working."
