Here I am confused if I should have the question mark at the end of the sentence, because it seems like it can cause the sentence to be interpreted in two different ways:
Example: What is this sorcery that brightens the river’s edge, covert and odd?
possible meanings: I think it can mean that the river's edge is covert and odd. But I want the readers to to understand that it is "sorcery" that is covert and odd.
In which case can this question be a statement, with a period instead?
Thanks.
