Different between was going and would going

Nobody thought he was going to come.
Nobody thought he would going to come.

Roger thought mr.P was going to try kill him.
Roger thought mr.P would try to kill him.

I thought the exam was going to be much easier.
I thought the exam would be much easier than this.

Could you explain what is different in meaning between two sentences.
