Please help me understand the differences among 'salary', 'wage', remuneration, and 'emoluments'

I'm unfamiliar with that last. As for the others, to my understanding:

A 'wage' is what one earns on an hourly basis. If I earn a wage of $5 per hour, and I work from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then from 1:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. only, then I'll expect to receive $27.50 for the day. Wage- earners punch in and out of work (or jot down their hours) so their bosses can determine what to pay them.
A 'salary' is what one earns per week (or fortnight, or half-month, or month, or year, or whatever). Often, he is expected to work a certain number of hours per week (or day, or month, or whatever), but is usually allowed a little leeway (in either direction) without a change in compensation. Or, he is expected to get certain jobs done, and is not expected to work any set number of hours per week. Salary-earners, if they jot down their hours (or punch in and out of work), do so only so the boss knows they're present, in general, for the hours they should be.

'Salaries' and 'wages' are paid to employees, not to contractors or others listed below. Substitute employees might be paid a 'wage'; same for a guy you pick up on the side of the road who's looking for a day's work. These latter people are told "work for a day, and I'll pay you $5 per hour" that's a wage.
'Remuneration' is compensation for work done, and is paid to employees, contractors, substitute employees, one-time hired hands (e.g. the kid down the block who mows your lawn), guest speakers, graduate teaching assistants (e.g., yours truly), etc. It includes salaries, wages, honoraria, and other payments.
