Difference in the meanings

Hi

Please tell me if I have understood them correctly.

1. Changes in our diet have meant that more and more people suffer from heart diseases.

2. The director of studies must be informed of any changes to the time table.

Are in and to characteristic of major and minor changes respectively?

Top answer

I have not studied this phenomenon closely, but I don't think the size of the change makes any difference. More likely, changes in are observed changes and changes to are applied changes. Even so, you can probably use either preposition in many cases.
