Difference in meaning

Hi! Is there any difference in meaning between the 2 sentence below? Thanks, Fulvio

1. People still have to work hard though, but it is rewarding.

2. People still have to work hard, but it is rewarding.

Top answer

yellowstarstruck People still have to work hard though 'though' at the end of a clause is equivalent to 'but' at the beginning, so your first sentence is basically the same as But people still have to work hard, but it is rewarding. That shows a contrast of some kind with whatever was written previous to this sentence. That contrast does not occur in your second sentence.

  • That contrast does not occur in your second sentence.
  • Otherwise, as you can easily see, both sentences are the same.
