Difference in meaning

Anyone knows what's the difference between advanced settings and advance settings?

I see a difference. I assume this has to do with computer software settings.

advanced settings ~ settings that only people with superior knowledge might be interested in or able to understand; not the everyday, ordinary settings that most people are interested in.

I do recognize that everyone and his brother says 'advance settings' for 'advanced settings', but it doesn't seem to me that that is correct. In my Dell system with Windows 7, the word they use consistently is 'advanced', not 'advance'. To me 'a

I'm sure such a setting exists, but it's probably called something else, and it's certainly not in my vocabulary. I'm willing to bet that it (advance settings) is rarely used in not only the context of computer software but also any other context
