Difference in meaning?

Could you tell me please, what’s the difference in meaning between these sentences?

1.- Dawson suggested that I should buy a car.

2.- Dawson suggested that I buy a car.

3.- Dawson suggested that I bought a car.

4.- I wish you would come.

5.- I wish you could come.

Thank you in advance,

Eladio

# 3 is strange. If Dawson is making a suggestion to YOU, then this doesn't work.

I can only think of how it would work in cases like this: They all wondered how I got there. Peter thought I must have walked the whole way. Dawson suggested that I bought a car.

Hi GG:

Maybe it works if I think that Dawson suggested that I had bought a car in the past, but this didn't happen.

??!!
