Difference between "will" and "would"

Please tell me what is the difference between "WILL" and "WOULD"

'Will' besides denoting future is used to denote promise, volition, assumption etc.

I will meet him at the party tomorrow. (future)

I will get you a bike if you pass this test. (promise)

I will help you carry this bag. (volition)

There the rings the bell; It will be the mailman. (assumption)

Would is the past equivalent of will and hence

There are many differences, and many usages, but you will have to read up on them in other sources. One of the main differences that you need to know is that will indicates the future of the present moment, and would indicates the future of a moment in the past.

Will is a modal auxiliary verb. And we can use it as an auxiliary verb when we talk about future.

Would is grammatically the past form of will as well as being a modal auxiliary verb.

Also WOULD is used as a softer, less definite form of will.
