Difference between Was + v3 and got + v3?

HI..This is Madhu.I have a question and I would like to share with you.My query is.......What is the difference between I got transferred to US I was transferred to US I have been transferred to US.Could you differentiate these three....Thanks in Advance.Madhu

The main difference is between these:

1. I was transferred to the US.
2. I have been transferred to the US.
In 1. the transfer happened at some definite point in the past. You can even add an expression that tells when the transfer happened. I was transferred to the US three months ago.
In 2. the transfer happened, but at some indefinite time. The main point is that you are now in the US as the result of that transfer. Grammatically, it is wrong to add an expression that tells when the transfer happened.
3. I got transferred to US.
The sentence with got ( 3. ) is nearly identical to sentence 1, but there is a greater impression here (than in 1) that the transfer "happened to" the speaker. It was an event that the speaker, in some sense, had to endure, or in the case of something positive, enjoyed the benefit of or felt rewarded by.
