Difference between undesired and undesirable

Hi everyone, could you please tell me what is the possible difference and usage between "undesired" and "undesirable"?

For example:
-This is an undesired outcome.
versus
-This is an undesirable outcome.

In fact, before knowing that there is a word named "undesired", I was using "undesirable" all the time when mentioning something that is unwanted or unfavorable to happen and, fortunately, it forever seemed to be perfectly fitted.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

I suggest that with 'undesired', the outcome has come, while with 'undesirable', the outcome may not have yet done so. I can well imagine that either would work in many cases.
