Difference between tilt and tip

Hi,

Are tip and tilt both acceptable in the following sentences? Are they the same in meaning?

I tipped my chair.
I tilted my chair.

This dinning table tipped.
This dinning table tipped.

tipped could also mean:
To push or knock over; overturn or topple..
But it also mean

In their most frequent uses, these are not synonymous at all.

tip is used with over: to tip (something) over (or to tip over (something)) is to upset it, to turn it over completely.

I accidentally tipped over the glass, and all the water spilled out onto the table.
