Difference between take and hold

Hi,

Questions keep coming to my mind.

Sorry for asking for help again and again.

Take and hold are very common English words.

When I employ them in conversation, I often get confused.

I am not sure whether to use take or hold in certain contexts.

For example:

take my hand, hold my hand.

take this book, hold this book.

take this ball, hold this ball.

take this bowl, hold this bowl.

Can you tell the difference?

I suppose that take tends to mean a movement and hold tends to mean a static state.

Thank you in advance.

I just looked these words up for what is probably the first time in my life and I can see where your confusion comes from. I'm not sure I can entirely clear things up but here's a try. In these examples and any number of others you could come up with either word can be used and the context and situation will determine how it is understood by the listener.
