Difference between reported and indirect questions?

I was under the impression that they are the same. Well, it turned out to be I was wrong.
Could you please give me a hint?
Thanks in advance

Reported question and indirect question:

Peter asked me if I could lend him $20. ('asked' is the part that shows this is reported.)

Thank you Emotion: smile
So a reported question is based on a question that has been actually asked. I mean someone has asked the question.

A question is a part of speech, isn't it?

NikooIs verb of the sentence the clue as to how to identify the reported question and indirect question?
Yes. You need a verb of reporting for it to be a report!

he said, she asked, they inquired, we questioned, I wondered aloud, ...

... a verb that indicates that somebody said some words.
